When Rolf Bertschi sits on the tractor in his wellies to help the gardener tend to the estate's grounds, or when Andrea Bertschi gives guests advice on where to take their unwell dog for a check-up, it shows one thing above all else: the two hotel professionals at Château de Montcaud are completely unpretentious chateau owners.

Before they took over the beautiful property in 2016 and extensively restored it, they gained several years of experience abroad. After graduating from the Lausanne Hotel Management School, Rolf Bertschi held leading positions in the hotel industry in Georgia, China and Hong Kong. Andrea Bertschi worked in Southeast Asia after completing her psychology studies. They met in Shanghai.

Their warm nature, combined with an eye for detail 
and a keen sense of service and the well-being of their guests, make them the kind of hosts you would wish for in such an enchanting place.

Andrea and Rolf Bertschi have two children.
