Since 9th August 2021: In compliance with government regulation, the presentation of a valid Health Pass is mandatory to access the hotel and both restaurants for all guests aged 18 years and over.

Since 30th August 2021: hotel and restaurant staff are required to have a valid health pass at all times when serving guests at Château de Montcaud.

From 30 September 2021: all guests aged 12 and over are required to present a valid health pass to enter the hotel and restaurants.

Sanitary measures in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic

Cleanliness and hygiene have always been a priority at the Château de Montcaud. In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, we have adapted our measures to protect the health and safety of our guests and employees and to comply with the general rules of hygiene and conduct in society as well as the instructions of the French government. Please find an extract of these measures below:

Public areas

  • Masks are mandatory to be worn in all public areas
  • Hydroalcoholic gel dispensers at free disposal
  • Light switches, lift buttons, door handles, handrails and credit card terminals are sanitized on a regular basis
  • Doors are propped open where possible to reduce contact

Restaurants and event space

  • Hydroalcoholic gel dispensers at the entrance and exit
  • Guests are asked to wear masks when not seated at their assigned table
  • Mandatory distance between tables maintained
  • Menu sanitized after use
  • Cashier area equipped with a protective screen
  • Payment terminal sanitized after each contact
  • Access to toilets where possible in one-way traffic

Hotel reception

  • Reception desks equipped with protective screens
  • Only one guest at a time allowed at a time in the check-in and check-out areas
  • Desk and payment terminal sanitized after each contact
  • Guests are advised to avoid cash payment if possible
  • Paperless invoices preferred (by e-mail), print-outs only on request

Rooms and Suites

  • Air-conditioning is individually adjustable per room
  • Rooms will not be entered during the whole stay if requested


  • Pool: deck chairs are placed at a sufficient distance
  • Tennis court: rackets and balls are available, and are sanitized after use
  • Boules court: balls are sanitized after use


  • Our staff are required to hold a valid health pass to access the chateau and serve our guests.
  • Hydroalcoholic gel dispensers in the staff area, masks and gloves provided by employer
  • Training in the correct use of masks and disinfectants according to HACCP
  • Hands are washed regularly
  • Masks are worn when social distance cannot be maintained
  • Contact avoided whenever possible between the different departments
