“La Maison” – feels like home

Staying in a hotel may often cause families to worry about their (and other guests’) comfort: will the children have space to let off enough steam to later sit still in the restaurant? Can their thirst for discovery be met, is there enough to do and experience? Will the kids mix well with other guests, are they a challenge for the staff? For these and other worries, we proudly present “La Maison“. Relax, you’re at home!

The popular saying “A home away from home” is often used to describe a hotel that makes guests feel as easy as a Sunday morning in their own four walls. Needless to say, this is the feeling we want to project at Château de Montcaud. Families may find this difficult when holidaying in a hotel – there are worries that the children could be a nuisance on the one hand or feel too restricted on the other.

Worries aside, it’s time to relax

Families are more than welcome at Château de Montcaud and thanks to “La Maison“, they can easily feel at home. Letting off steam, enjoying themselves and relaxing without a second thought is easily possible in the 12 acres of parkland surrounding the chateau and its annexes – there is more than enough space for each and every single guest. One of the annexes being “La Maison“, a stand-alone building with its own infrastructure and outdoor space. The former gatekeeper’s cottage offers a lot of privacy and flexibility: would you rather cook for yourself today or go to a restaurant? Go on an excursion or spend a day in and around the cottage – or lie by the pool? Or all of the above? As a guest at “La Maison“, you decide for yourself and quite spontaneously, because the hotel’s amenities are available at any time and at no extra charge: opt for a game of tennis under the century-old trees, a round of pétanque or simply splashing around in the pool!

The fact that families feel at home in the cottage is no coincidence: One of the previous owners, Paul Constant, lived here with his family and enjoyed the cosy and private atmosphere of the gatehouse. “A home away from home” is meant quite literally here.

The devil is in the details

The cottage itself has a lot to offer: You enjoy your own terrace area – well protected from prying eyes – with a large BBQ grill and, of course, seating and dining area. Inside, the fireplace invites you to spend cosy hours. All things practical have not been forgotten either: There is a fully equipped kitchen as well as a washing machine with dryer function. The master bedroom features a double bed, and further sleeping possibilities are available in the study room as well as on the pull-out sofa in the living room. In total we are talking about 70m2 of living space and – just for you! – an additional 43m2 on the private terrace.

A thousand ideas – not only for families

“Needless to say, this offer is not only aimed at families – couples or individuals seeking peace and quiet also love staying at “La Maison”, even for longer stays,” says hostess Andrea Bertschi. “Families are particularly close to our hearts and we don’t simply want to welcome them on paper, but make sure they really feel at home.” And this also includes what is on offer around the hotel: is there enough to discover as a family? “Don’t worry,” laughs Ms Bertschi: “We have a thousand ideas ready for our guests!” These include excursions to nearby towns and villages, bike tours, swimming opportunities and many other things to do.

Last but not least, there is our extensive park, where there is always something to discover. It offers enough space for everyone and is right on the doorstep. We offer holidays in your own house with your own park, so to speak.

We look forward to seeing you!
